Hair of the Dog / Big Island Brewhaus Collaboration Brew

160510 HOD Collab TK & AS  May 10th was brew day at Hair of the Dog for the first Oregon brewed batch of Big Island Brewhaus’ Golden Sabbath.

Half of the batch will be ready in about a month, the other half  will be aged in barrels that will be tapped in a year or so!

Jabba da Sour – Craft Beer Week Release

150511 Jabba da SourBig Island Brewhaus is excited to announce the Craft Beer Week release of their first sour beer ‘Jabba da Sour’.

Named for the Big Island-grown jaboticaba fruit that was added during fermentation with a distinct nod to the notable Star Wars character, this session-worthy rosy brew, colored by the skin of the jaboticaba, is refreshing and tart with aromas that hint of plums and cabernet grapes. The thirst-quenching sourness comes from both the fruit (grown at Blue Dragon Farm) and natural lactic acidity derived from a special mashing process.

To quote the great galactic Jabba “You will soon learn to appreciate me”!
